Green Island Light House

To the East of Dundas Island lays Green Island on the North Coast of British Columbia. One of the few remaining lighthouses on the Coast. As lighthouses get more automated, the less we need to man them. Controversy is stirred by many coastal people about whether they be manned or not. Aside from having spectacular waterfront properties and upkeeping the property, these lighthouse keepers keep a diligent watch on the waters around them.

Clarksdale Victory - Hippa Island

The Clarksdale Victory was an American Cargo ship 500 ft. long. It was travelling from Alaska when it went off course and hit Hippa Island right on the Western shores. It was Nov. 24, 1947 and 49 sailors perished. Four survived the tradgedy.
The hull is an obvious sight from a distance and having seen the wreck up close only once, its a spectacle not to be forgotten. As it remains a gravesite for the lost men, one can only think of the sailors and the rusted scrap metal is a monument for those lost. Incredibly, 5 men made it to shore, whereas 4 survived until rescue.
It is hard to get on Hippa island as the weather and sea state is always the obstacle. I hope to visit the Wreck again.
